Γεια! I am Ornella Xarikleia Akrivopoulou, an artist, illustrator, and creative instructor. I am a half Brit/half Greek currently living in Thessaloniki, Greece, where I’ve spent most of my life, though I’ve had my fair share of creative adventures between England and America.

I got a BTEC Foundation degree in Art & Design from MET College Brighton, UK and a Bachelor’s degree in Illustration & Printmaking from The University of Arts, Philadelphia, PA. My work has been exhibited in the Society of Illustrators (New York City), I have participated in the N.C Wyeth Brandywine Museum Residency and had my own solo show “A Continental Breakfast” in Philadelphia, PA.

I have a deep love for texture, which stems from my background in printmaking. I’d describe myself as process-driven ( this could be because of all the times I was encourage to read the Odyssey)—whether you’re hiring me for an illustration, workshop, or ceramic creation, the journey of ideation and experimenting with materials is what fuels me. It breathes life and energy into everything I create.

The collage of my cultural background, my multiple accents and international travels is at the core of my diverse identity. It drives my experimentation, teaching, and the stories I carry with me. Together I’m confident we’ll create a lasting visual impact.
